Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026. The short version: no accounts and no ads. We use Google Analytics and a chat box, which set cookies; in Europe and the UK they only do that if you say yes. Nothing about you is sold.
What we keep
You don't sign up, so we don't have your name, email or password. A few small settings are saved in your own browser so the site remembers them, and they never leave your device:
- theme: light or dark mode.
- pp-region: the country you picked with the IN / UK / EU / US button.
- pp-pc: the parts you picked in the "Can I run it?" and FPS tools.
- pp-geo: your country code (for example "IN"), kept only until you close the tab.
- pp-consent: your answer to the cookie question, if you were asked.
You can clear all of these at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Visit counts
To see which pages and tools are useful, the site also counts visits on our own server, separately from Google Analytics (below). For each page view or click we record: the page, the page that linked to us (without its query string), your country, region and city as our host Cloudflare estimates them, your network's name (for example your mobile operator), the type of device, browser and operating system, and what you did, such as pressing a Buy button, adding a part in the builder, using a calculator, or what you typed in the site search. We do not store your IP address, set cookies or build a profile of you.
To count a visitor once a day, we keep a code made from that day's date, your IP address and browser name, scrambled with a secret key. It can't be turned back into your IP address and it changes every day, so visits on different days can't be linked. Automated visitors (bots) are not counted as visitors; for search engine and AI crawlers we only count how many pages each one fetched.
Detailed records are kept for about 13 months, then only daily totals remain. Page errors your browser runs into (for example an image that doesn't load) are recorded the same way so we can fix them.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_…, kept up to 2 years) to tell a returning browser from a new one. Google receives your IP address to work out your rough location and doesn't store it in Analytics. We don't use it for ads, and we have no access to who you are. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
In the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein we ask first. Until you press Accept, Analytics sets no cookies and only sends Google a count of the visit without anything that identifies your browser. You can change your answer at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Anywhere else, you can turn it off with Google's opt-out add-on, an ad or tracker blocker, or by blocking cookies for this site.
Chat box
The chat button in the corner is run by tawk.to. It sets its own cookies so a conversation stays open as you move between pages, and anything you type in it (and your email, if you give it) goes to tawk.to and to us so we can reply. In Europe and the UK it only loads after you accept cookies. See tawk.to's privacy policy.
How we know your country
To open the right Amazon or eBay store, the page asks for your country once per visit: first from our host, Cloudflare, and if that fails from the free geojs.io service. Only the two-letter country code comes back. We don't store your IP address.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and block attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Affiliate links
Buy buttons go to Amazon and eBay. Amazon links are affiliate links: Amazon may set its own cookies so it can tell a sale came from PC-Build.online, and we earn a small commission. That costs you nothing extra. eBay links are plain links and earn us nothing. What happens on their sites is covered by Amazon's and eBay's privacy policies.
Photos and other content
Product photos are stored on our own server, so loading them doesn't contact anyone else. In eBay countries, some photos load from eBay's image servers, and game cover pictures load from Steam's image servers. Those servers see your IP address like any website you visit.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes and questions
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Questions? Email wizardswebwonder@gmail.com.
