Buying laptops: common questions

What should I look for in a gaming laptop?

The graphics card matters most: an RTX 4050 or 5050 is entry level, RTX 4060 or 5060 is the sweet spot. Then check the screen refresh rate (144 Hz or more) and that the RAM can be upgraded.

How much RAM does a laptop need?

16 GB for gaming and most work. 8 GB is fine only for browsing and office apps.

Can I upgrade a laptop later?

Usually the SSD, and sometimes the RAM. Thin laptops often have memory soldered to the board, so buy enough at the start.
