PC component questions
Which PC components do I need?
A processor, a motherboard, RAM, an SSD, a power supply, a cabinet and a CPU cooler. Add a graphics card for gaming. Some processors come with a cooler and built-in graphics.
How do I know the parts fit together?
The processor and motherboard must share a socket (AM5, AM4, LGA1700, LGA1851), the RAM must be the type the board takes (DDR4 or DDR5), and the power supply must cover what the parts draw. Add parts in our PC builder and it checks this for you.
Where should most of the money go?
For gaming, the graphics card. For editing and 3D work, the processor and 32 GB of RAM. Don't save on the power supply: a good one protects every other part.
