What we do
Tell us your budget and what you will use the PC for. We show how to split the money across parts, check that every part fits together (socket, memory type, power and case size), and link you to the store for your country.
Where the specs come from
Processor and graphics card specifications are adapted from Wikipedia's hardware lists (CC BY-SA 4.0) and refreshed every day; each part links to its source. Other parts are checked against the manufacturer's own product page. We never copy specs from shopping sites.
Where the photos come from
Product photos are the manufacturers' own, through Open Icecat. Where there's no official photo (AMD and Intel processors, for example), we show a simple drawing with the brand and model, labelled as an illustration. AMD and NVIDIA don't sell graphics cards under their own name in most shops, so a GPU page shows one real card built on that chip and says which one. In eBay countries, a photo can also come from a live eBay listing for that exact model.
Prices
Prices on this site are approximate. For most parts we take the typical price of new, Buy It Now listings on eBay for that exact model; when there are none, we use the launch price. Both are converted to your currency with the day's exchange rate. Shop prices change by the hour, so the Amazon or eBay page always has the real number.
Your region
We pick your country from your IP address once per visit, using our host's network or the free geojs.io service; only the country code is kept, in your browser, for that session. It decides the currency and which Amazon and eBay sites the buttons open (India sees Amazon.in). Buying for another country? Pick it from the country menu at the top of any page.
Performance numbers
FPS figures in build guides are estimates for typical settings. Real results depend on the game version, drivers, resolution and the rest of your system.
